If I said ” I can’t have any more Britneys and need to leave the Battle because the Trouble is on the Dog” would anyone understand this sentence, from our lesson?

Yes, now we can understand some cockney, this slang is so cool, a bit complicated though! …a mi móvil puede que empiece a llamarle perro..

I can’t have any more Britneys and need to leave the Battle because the Trouble is on the Dog

Britneys – Britney Spears – Beers
Battle – Battle Cruiser – Boozer (pub/bar)
Trouble – Trouble & Strife – Wife
Dog – Dog & Bone – Phone

Translation: “I can’t have more beers and need to leave the pub because the (my) wife is on the phone”

we have in spanish those kinds of slangs, we use words related or that sound almost the same than originals, ex. in order to say “te estas poniendo pesado” we say ” te estas poniendo pesebre” it is a slang used in cartagena, colombia.

Thanks for your comment belisario! I’ve heard that somewhere before :-) . I went to Cartagena 2 years ago and absolutely loved it… Great place, great country…
